Status of the organization

Kigoma Alliance for Community Needs (KACON) is a non-governmental organization formerly known as Kigoma AIDS Control Network, registered in 2005 under society ordinance and reregistered on 17th April 2018 under NGOs act of 2002 with registration number NGO/0001015. In the beginning KACON worked as a network or umbrella agency that aimed at strengthening collaboration among CSOs, community and other stakeholders on addressing HIV/AIDS problem in Kigoma region. On April 2018, KACON reviewed her vision and mission and transformed from her single-problem intervention to multiple-problems. Similarly, in the beginning KACON operated at the region level, whereas under transformation the agency operates in all regions in Tanzania mainland.

Head Office


KACON’s head office is situated in Kigoma-Ujiji Municipality, within the Mnarani area, inside the Tanzania Red Cross compound, adjacent to the NSSF Mafao House. This central and well-known location makes the office easily accessible to community members, partners, and stakeholders seeking the organization’s services. The office operates in a secure and professional environment, benefiting from the established infrastructure and visibility of the surrounding institutions. KACON’s head office serves as the main coordination hub for all organizational programs, administrative functions, and stakeholder engagements. It is from this office that planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects are conducted to ensure efficiency and accountability. The office is open to the public from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, excluding public holidays, during which clients and partners can access services and consultations.
The head office is equipped with essential office facilities, including communication tools and documentation systems that support smooth day-to-day operations. The presence of qualified staff at the head office ensures that inquiries, partnerships, and program activities are handled professionally and in a timely manner. Furthermore, the location enhances collaboration with nearby government offices, civil society organizations, and development partners operating within Kigoma-Ujiji Municipality. Overall, the head office provides a conducive environment for effective coordination and delivery of KACON’s mission and services to the community.
